This is a partially remote position, with expectation to be in the required location for board meetings. An opportunity has arisen for a values-driven Director of Governance, to provide strategic leadership across four critical functions: Governance & Company Secretariat, Legal Services, Risk & Compliance, and Regulatory Assurance. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining organisational integrity, transparency and accountability while supporting the delivery of strategic priorities. About the role This senior leadership position provides strategic oversight of governance, legal and compliance frameworks. The role advises the Executive and Boards, oversees relationships with regulators such as the Regulator of Social Housing, FCA and Charity Commission, and ensures the organisation meets and exceeds all legal, regulatory and ethical obligations. You will lead a portfolio that safeguards effective risk management, drives assurance, and enables informed decision-making across the business. Key responsibilities include: Championing regulatory compliance and embedding good governance across all areas of operation. Leading the design and continuous improvement of governance, risk, legal and assurance frameworks. Providing strategic oversight of legal services and compliance reporting. Acting as a senior advisor on regulatory engagement and external policy development. Driving a culture of integrity, risk awareness and high performance. Developing and empowering high-performing teams that deliver excellence across complex portfolios. What we’re looking for: Extensive senior experience in governance, legal, risk and compliance leadership. Proven track record working with Boards, Committees and Executive teams. Strong knowledge of the UK housing or regulated sector, and relevant legislation (including company, charity and data protection law). Background in managing multi-functional teams, large budgets, and cross-organisational assurance frameworks. A Chartered Governance qualification (CGIUKI) or equivalent senior governance qualification is desirable. This is a high-impact role requiring advanced judgement, strategic influence and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. It offers the opportunity to shape governance integrity and compliance culture at the highest level.
We are looking for a motivated Asbestos Surveyor. The ideal candidate will hold a P402 certification and have at least 6 months of relevant experience. You will be responsible for carrying out asbestos surveys in various environments, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The data from surveys need to be accurate, so having a keen eye for detail and be confident using IT, including the Microsoft office suite and asset register. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently. You will be working collaboratively across the business and with external contractors, so you will need to be a confident communicator. You will be working across the region of Wiltshire and Somerset and will be provided with a company vehicle, so a full manual driving license is required. Elevate Projects are working in partnership with our client, a sizable provider of affordable housing and not for profit developer , to approach and appoint an interim Head of Compliance: The role is Hybrid working with only 1 day office based (Occasionally 2) per week, office location is in the greater Birmingham area. This is to cover a long term sick absence and as such it is an ongoing contract with no current fixed end date. The organisation owns/manages around 25,000 homes, the core Stock & Activity is concentrated in the West Midlands & South West. It also provides care & support services: over 100 care & support schemes and services reaching tens of thousands of people. The Head of Property Compliance will be tasked with overseeing adherence to regulations pertaining to Legionella control, the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), & Asbestos.

Stock condition survey programme – ensuring robust, data-led asset intelligence to inform future planning and investment decisions. About You We’re seeking a seasoned asset management professional who brings: Proven senior leadership experience in asset or property services, ideally within housing or a related sector. Strong knowledge of housing stock performance, building safety, compliance, and sustainability. A track record of delivering customer-focused repairs and maintenance services. Excellent people management skills and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and contractors. Elevate Projects are working in partnership with our client, a dedicated local affordable housing provider, committed to ensuring high-quality living conditions for residents & who take a proactive approach to maintaining homes, ensuring they remain safe, comfortable, and free from damp and mould issues. The Role We are seeking a skilledDamp, Mould, Repairs Surveyor to join our clients property team on a temporary basis. You will play a crucial role in identifying and assessing damp and mould issues across the housing stock, ensuring effective solutions are implemented promptly to maintain high living standards for tenants. Key Responsibilities Conduct property inspections to assess damp, mould, and disrepair issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations. Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to arrange remedial works efficiently. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and housing standards. Work collaboratively with the maintenance and housing management teams to identify recurring issues and develop long-term solutions. Provide expert advice and guidance on damp, mould, and repair concerns to tenants and colleagues. Maintain accurate records and documentation using housing management systems. About You To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience in surveying, maintenance, or repairs within the housing sector. Knowledge of building pathology, particularly damp and mould-related issues. Strong understanding of housing legislation and health and safety regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with tenants and contractors. The ability to work independently, manage workloads, and prioritise effectively. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
